Generous Giving: Dormaa SHS’s 1992 Alumni

The 1992 alumni of Dormaa Senior High School in the Bono Region donated GH¢40,000 worth of classroom furniture, including 105 tables and 105 chairs. The donation, aimed at benefiting current and future students, was made at a brief ceremony.

Lydia Oduro, speaking for the alumni, highlighted their gratitude to the school for its positive impact on their lives, motivating them to give back. They encouraged other alumni to follow suit.

Napoleon Kumi, emphasizing the need for proper use and maintenance of the furniture, urged students to focus on education and avoid harmful behaviors.

The headmaster, Nicholas Asamoah, thanked the alumni for their support but noted the school’s need for additional furniture and appealed for more assistance from various stakeholders due to financial constraints.

Henry Amadu Darry, the boys’ prefect, and Janet Addai, the girls’ prefect, expressed gratitude for the alumni’s generosity and highlighted ongoing needs such as student beds, calling for continued support from alumni, NGOs, the government, and philanthropists.
